Connect a tube to the bleeder nipple on the front left wheel and loosen the nipple screw until the fluid starts to flow. The oil fluid will be dark and murky. Drain until you see the fresh clean fluid coming out, and there are no more bubbles in the stream. 200 ml is usually enough.

Bleeding the brakes on a 1999 Saab 9-5.

Tools:

  • DOT4 brake fluid: 900 ml or 1 quart;
  • brake bleeder;
  • 17 mm socket: wheel bolts;
  • 11 mm wrench: bleeder screws;
  • torque wrench;
  • car jack and stands.
