You can see the crack on the left side of the old mount. The new version is beefier, and has a provision for a third bolt used on later cars.

Transmission mount replacement on a 1999 Saab 9-5.

Tools:

  • 18 mm socket (upper nut);
  • 13 mm socket (battery clamps, mount bolt);
  • 13 mm wrench (mount bolt);
  • 12 mm socket (battery bracket);
  • 10 mm socket (battery support);
  • Torx T40 socket (index screw);
  • socket extension;
  • torque wrench;
  • hydraulic jack.
