17.06.2007: Ash tray
Remove the ash tray in the back of the console and unscrew a Torx screw in the middle.

Manual gear shifter housing removal installation on 1994-1998 Saab 900 and 1999-2002 Saab 9-3. I removed the housing to fit a short shifter.

The installation is the reverse of removal. The shifter alignment procedure must be performed after re-installation.

Tools:

  • 13 mm socket: linkage clamp;
  • 10 mm socket: centre console and shifter housing;
  • long socket extension;
  • ratchet handle;
  • Torx T25 screwdriver;
  • L-shaped 3 mm Allen key: gearbox lock.
