The fan speed control module replacement on a 1996 Saab 900 (same applies to 1999-2002 9-3). It is a relatively common problem on these cars -- the control module burns out, causing the fan to die (or sometimes blow at high speed all the time, even when the climate control is off).

Note: the back of the module works as a radiator, and attaches to the metal bracket under the dash, which helps further dissipate the heat. It's not recommended to turn the fan on with the module hanging loose as it might burn out again due to insufficient cooling.
